OKI International School, Biyagama, was established on January 8, 2004.

The school offers a comprehensive educational program from Play Group to the G.C.E. Ordinary Level. We follow the National Curriculum in the English medium, with the primary section adhering to the Cambridge syllabus, while the preschool follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

School is equipped with a modern play area, a well-stocked library, an auditorium, an air-conditioned IT lab with internet access, and a fully equipped science laboratory capable of conducting practical lessons up to the Ordinary Level.

As part of our commitment to nurturing students’ talents and skills, we organize a diverse range of activities throughout the year, providing invaluable learning experiences that complement their academic journey.

We strongly encourage students to participate in various clubs and societies, such as the Entrepreneur Club, Media Club, Green Club, Broadcasting Club, English Literary Association, and Sinhala Literary Association. A particular emphasis is placed on promoting active involvement in these co-curricular activities, with Scouting and Girl Guiding holding special importance within the school. Additionally, the school offers a broad range of sports and extracurricular activities, including swimming, netball, badminton, chess, karate, and athletics, all aimed at fostering physical and personal development.

It is indeed a privilege to pen this message as the Principal of the Senior Section of OKI International School, Wattala.  Optimum Knowledge Institute, as the name suggests, from her inception has been dedicated to impart a holistic education to learners on vivid perspectives to its optimum standard. OKI, deeply rooted in the heart of Wattala,

as the oldest international school established in the area, has extended far and wide with her proud and profound landmarks ranging over two decades.  It is my obligation to record with high esteem and gratitude the vision of the visionary founder ‘To be the best school in molding children to be World Class Citizens’.  Abiding by the vision, the school paves the way for students to develop the spectsr sam dents

can pursue their strengths and reach heights to be World Class Citizens.  Educating through an international language up to the Advanced Level provides opportunities to widen the horizons of the learner, enriching the power of merging into a global society.  The school not only stimulates the students to be academics but also enhances their abilities in dynamic perspectives.  Multifarious values and ethics of different ethnic groups and religions are strongly interwoven, making the exposure of students vivid, rich and colorful. Student active involvement in events,

rich with a blended culture inculcate mutual respect, understanding and tolerance that would mold a child who could be sustained in and accepted by any society.  Any educational institute may cater to knowledge, skills and attitudes of students, but very few make provisions for their soft skills. At OKI, the students are geared to demonstrate and to sharpen their soft skills by engaging themselves as active participants of various societies and movements.  

The collaborative efforts and the constant dedication of the Management along with the stakeholders have greatly extended the parameters of the school. Students of OKI are blessed to be groomed and molded as World Class Citizens.
