We have formed English, Sinhala and Tamil literary associations in the network for junior and senior students to showcase their language skills. They perform items such as drama, speeches, poetry, recitation and singing.

It is encouraging to see the students’ engagement in various activities which give them much needed exposure to try new experiments and come up with innovative ideas. “Ignite Curiosity 2024” exhibition of Wattala Senior School stole the limelight of events organized by Science Association during the year. OKI Kiribathgoda branch also held an educational exhibition at the end of the third term.

This is also an active association which provides much-needed business acumen to its members. Field visits to many businesses were the main highlight of this association during 2023/24.

With the aim of developing and enhancing the leadership skills of the future generation the selected Prefects of our schools are being groo med to take leadership roles in society.

The children are trained in news reading, presenting, announcing and compering to build their confidence in public speaking. School also invests heavily in grooming members of this society for big events.

In keeping with the ideals of the United Nations Organization the UN Club of OKI International School, Wattala participated in Model UN competitions and two OKI students emerged as winners in article writing.

Throughout the years, the Art Club of OKI schools has come a long way while exhibiting the strength of their potential, alongside polishing the artistic skills of its members. OKI Junior School Wattala held an art exhibition at JDA Perera Art Gallery in University of Visual and Performing Arts during the month of August exhibiting 800 creations on canvas using different techniques. OKI Junior school also won 2nd place in the all-island dancing competition.

A Strong team Of OKIans participated in various events during 2023/24 Academic year. The pinnacle of these achievements was winning 22 medals at ISAC meet in February 2024 and advancing to 5th place in the leaderboard. OKI bagged 4 Gold, 12 Silver and 6 Bronze medals in this all-important annual encounter. Gold Medalists are Masters Travin Bonifas, Sachin Dilshan, Vihanga Geenura and Miss Samasthi Dinasuri.

Karate is a game in which OKI has performed well over the years and expected many achievements during the tournament scheduled this month for AY 2023/24. Miss Genevera Fernando won Bronze Medal in South Asian Karate Championships which was the main highlight of the game.
