OKI International School, Wattala, was established in September 1998 as the parent school, providing quality education for students from Play Group to Advanced Level (A/L) in both Commerce and Science Streams. Catering to both Cambridge and local examinations, the school operates in two locations: the Junior Section, which includes Pre-School to Grade 7, is located at No. 80, Old Negombo Road, Wattala, while the Main School, which accommodates students from Grade 8 to A/L, is situated at NO. 43, Old Negombo Road, Wattala.

 

Equipped with modern facilities such as a library, an IT lab with internet access, well-equipped Chemistry and Physics laboratories, smart classrooms, a Robotics room, a main hall, an auditorium, an audio-visual room, aesthetics rooms, a swimming pool, and an inclusive education unit, the school provides an enriched learning environment up to A/L.

 

To foster students’ holistic development, various associations and clubs have been established, including Language & Academic Societies such as the English, Sinhala, and Tamil Associations, Science and Commerce Associations, UN Club, Reading Club, and Debating Club. Leadership and media-focused initiatives like the Prefects’ Guild, Gavel Club, and Media & Broadcasting Club, as well as technology-driven groups such as the Robotics Club and Aviation Club, further enhance student engagement.

 

The school also promotes community service through the Social Service Club, Boy Scouts Unit, Cub Scouts Unit, and Girl Guides Unit, while intellectual and strategic activities are encouraged through the Chess Club. Beyond academics, sports and extracurricular activities play a crucial role in student life, offering students opportunities to participate in swimming, cricket, netball, basketball, badminton, karate, table tennis, and athletics.

Optimum Knowledge Institute, as the name suggests, from her inception has been dedicated to impart a holistic education to learners on vivid perspectives to its optimum standard. OKI, deeply rooted in the heart of Wattala,

as the oldest international school established in the area, has extended far and wide with her proud and profound landmarks ranging over two decades.
